Letter: Not a bluebird sky
Bluebird: “Mostly used to describe a perfect, cloudless, bright-blue sky and plentiful sunshine. Especially in snowboarding conditions” (Urban Dictionary).
The picture on the cover of The Aspen Times on Tuesday states, “Framed by a bluebird sky.”
First off, there is a huge cloud in the bottom of the sky, just above the mountaintop, which does not constitute “bluebird”!
Second, the word “framed,” which means “to be around the edge of” (Merriam-Webster): The jet is not framed by bluebird sky. The entire bottom half of the picture consists of mountainous tree cover and fading fall colors.
I just call it like I see it, and that is not bluebird!
