Letter: Medical memories
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Aspen and Roaring Fork Valley communities for their friendship and support during my 12-year tenure at Aspen Orthopaedic Associates. With its closing, I will be moving my practice to Grand River Health in Rifle. My family and I will continue to reside in the valley and maintain the friendships and lifestyle we have come to enjoy. It is with sadness that the long-standing tradition of Aspen Orthopaedic Associates will no longer exist in the valley. Upon moving to Aspen, I was immediately impressed with the level of orthopedic care provided to such a small community hospital. Aspen Orthopaedic Associates has educated students, residents and fellows in orthopedic surgery, participated in research projects, recently shared in the prestigious O’Donahue Award and provided outreach within the community with local event coverage, placement of an athletic trainer at the high school and the addition of concussion protocols, ACL-injury-prevention programs and local educational seminars. I consider myself fortunate to have been involved with a great group of partners for so many years, and my thanks and best wishes go out to Drs. Mark Purnell and Tom Pevny, who brought me to the valley. Any former patients desiring follow-up with me at my new position can contact me at 970-625-1100 in the orthopedic specialty clinic.
