Let’s end world hunger

Every 3.6 seconds a person dies from world hunger. Seventy-five percent of them are children. Thirty-four million people around the world are dying from world hunger. This issue has caused over 1 million children to die every year. Asia and Africa are dealing with the most high malnutrition. Malnutrition is the condition that results from eating a diet in which certain nutrients are lacking. Donate to end world hunger because you could save one child’s life.

Malnutrition increased by 4 million children last year. It is the No. 1 food crisis. Women make up a little over half of the world’s population, but they account for over 60 percent of the world’s hungry. It’s estimated that 195 million children make up for part of the malnutrition. Malnutrition is responsible for the deaths of 2.6 million children a year; that’s 300 deaths an hour. Malnutrition weakens the body’s resistance and increases the risk of dying from pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria, measles or AIDS. Many malnourished children die because they are vulnerable to repeated bouts of disease and infection.

People don’t realize that most of the world’s population is starving children. The Dalai Lama says, “Peace can only last where human rights are respected, where people are fed, where individuals and nations are free.” My mom always told me that if I didn’t eat my food she would package it up and send it to Africa. I thought it was as good idea. All kids care about now are going on electronics and watching TV. I think there is more to the world than that. What worries me most is that the populations in Africa and Asia will start to decrease.

I realize there are tons of other big crises, but I want people to know that this one is the biggest. Step by step, people have been trying to end world hunger, but it takes a lot of support. Our population could slowly start to decrease. Kids nowadays don’t realize that our world is full of tons of problems. Seventy-five percent of the world’s population is hungry. I’m challenging you to start your own action against hunger campaign. You can sign up at: http://fundraise.actionagainsthunger.org/. Together we can end world hunger.
