Letter: How’d we manage to survive during the old times?
Regarding Maurice Emmer’s letter in the April 7 Aspen Daily News (“City should just use the office space it has”):
Boy! Aren’t we lucky to have know-it-all attorneys point out how stupid we are, or were, in Aspen. I don’t know how we ever managed to survive in Aspen during those old times when we actually were 100 percent renewable by generating our own power.
Unfortunately, we can’t turn back the clock of time. So we old-timers will need to put up with the new experts. After all, they know it all! I thought a “power house” generated electricity. Is hot air considered renewable? If Mr. Emmer is so concerned about protecting the city’s assets, perhaps he should be more concerned about protecting Aspen’s water rights.
