Letter: Gratitude from the Buddy Program
The Buddy Program would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank-you to all of those who contributed to the success of this year’s fundraising event — the Bash for the Buddies — with 550 guests attending to support the Buddy Program and the youth and families we serve throughout the Roaring Fork Valley.
Thank you again to Boogie Weinglass for hosting this year’s Buddy Beach Bash at his stunning home — the Merry-Go-Ranch in Aspen. Considered the party of the summer and the kickoff to the Aspen summer benefit scene, the Bash for the Buddies offered guests a night of premier silent and live auctions, “A Taste of Aspen” with appetizers prepared by a dozen of Aspen’s best chefs, a beautiful performance by our own Little Buddy Christian, a delicious seated dinner, and a wonderful Beach Boys-themed band!
We are extremely grateful to our loyal Bash patrons, donors, volunteers, restaurant contributors, silent auction and volunteer coordinators, live and silent auction contributors, as well as our corporate and in-kind sponsors. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors: Boogie’s, Dancing Bear Aspen, ModernLuxury Aspen Magazine, The Aspen Times, Alpine Bank, Premier Party Rentals, Children’s Hospital Colorado, Burberry, élevée Fine Clothing and Golf, Food & Wine, The Little Nell, Cannondale-Drapac Pro Cycling Team, Maison Ullens, Marble Distillery, Aspen Skiing Co., Janet Roberts, Dennis Basso, Gorsuch, Deborah Daine Design, Gold Leaf, Rescue Lounge, Cache Cache, Carolyn’s Flowers, and Southern Wine and Liquors.
Our gratitude goes to all of the businesses that featured some of their delicious signature dishes: Cache Cache, Conundrum Catering, European Caterers, Jimmy’s, L’Hosteria, Maru Aspen, Aspen Brewing Co., Fusion Catering and Marble Distilling Co. for their specialty drinks.
A big thank-you to Bash Event Planners Chelsea Dillon and Kate Ryan with Gold Leaf Event Design and Production, as well as volunteer coordinators Joey Woltemath and Hans Hohl, and silent-auction coordinator Laura Seay.
We gratefully acknowledge our board of directors, led by President Adam Goldsmith; our Bash Committee, led by Angie Stewart and comprised of Diane Anderson, Deborah Breen, Deborah Daine, Kimberly Higgins, Becky Murray and Albert Sanford; our Auction Committee, comprised of Gina Betts, Simon Chen, Pete Hayda and Kimberly Higgins; our Leadership Development Board led by Candace Huffman our very generous National Council donors, led by Angie, Gary Stewart, Flo Fulton Miller and Scott Miller and of course our own chairman of our board, Lenny “Boogie” Weinglass, who hosted the Bash and whose desire for making our community a better place is an inspiration to us all.
Proceeds from the Bash for the Buddies will support our four youth mentoring programs and the nearly 1,000 youth that we served in 2015 and continue to support each year. We certainly couldn’t provide critical services to our local youth without our community’s support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Executive director, The Buddy Program
