Letter: Fresh faces for Basalt
In a time when small towns throughout Colorado are making innovative and exciting plans for their future, it’s vital that Basalt not be left in the dust with old ways of planning and thinking. Whether it’s cracking the housing issues, improving day care or doing something imaginative with the Pan and Fork park, we need smart, energetic leaders who listen to their constituency. That’s why I’m supporting the slate of Jennifer Riffle, Jacque Whitsitt and Kate Schwoerer for Town Council. They’ve shown a long-term commitment to Basalt and have experience in business, politics, raising families and caring for the environment.
It’s uplifting to imagine the council with some fresh faces, relative youth and interest in its constituency.
Time for this river town to get out of the eddy by putting these three accomplished women in office!
