Letter: Draining Aspen of character
I‘m sure Aspen is still a great place to live. But what does it say about a town with no room for Little Annie’s? It says rents are way too high for a restaurant to survive and that rich property owners redeveloping your town from one end to the other are sucking the life out of Aspen until nothing will be left but Gucci-type stores, restaurants in big hotels and overpriced pot stores with drug-infused edibles. As the few older leases for restaurants expire, so will the availability of unique restaurants slowly fade away. I’m sorry to say, but your town is becoming more and more cookie-cutter land. Sad.
