Letter: Bothered by buses

Question: Why is an Aspen School District bus picking up students in El Jebel?

I only saw one youth on the left side of the bus. Then it stopped at the Basalt park and ride and picked up two more students. There is a public school literally 2 miles from that bus stop, yet these kids are being bused almost 20 miles one way to Aspen.

Why is this? I know people with children who move into “Aspen” to get their kids into Aspen public school, so why does a bus travel so far to pick up a few? Is it because we don’t have enough vehicles on the road already? Or just adding another bus to jam up the roundabout a little more both morning and afternoon?
