Letter: Aspen ‘prides itself on being transparent’

Our books are open

The City of Aspen prides itself on being transparent. Our books are open for any and all to scrutinize. If Maurice Emmer is claiming (or those who confide in him are claiming) misconduct, I offer an open invitation to Mr. Emmer to come speak with me and City Attorney Jim True anytime. We don’t want or need names, only specific details of what Mr. Emmer calls misconduct. We want to investigate real and true misconduct rather than deal with vague accusations. If you have information, we need to hear it. Let’s deal with real numbers and truthful stories face-to-face. Our door is open.
