Letter: Aspen mentor program taking off
December 4, 2013
April marked the launch of the Aspen Mentorship and Community Networking Program. At our kickoff event we formed more than 35 mentor/mentee relationships. We formed the program based on feedback from young Aspen area residents that they wanted professional mentors.
It is time to grow this program! Our second event will be at the Limelight Hotel from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. We welcome existing program members and encourage others, mentors and mentees, who are interested to attend as well.
The purpose of the Aspen Mentorship Program is to bring together professionally experienced and accomplished members of our community, with energetic, driven and community-minded younger Aspenites. In doing so, we will build a more vibrant, community-minded Aspen for us all.
Newcomers will engage successful Aspenites from diverse backgrounds with the intent of forming mentor/mentee relationships. For those of you already involved, come for cocktails, rounds of small-group prompted networking discussions, and presentations of personal experience from existing mentor/mentee relationships that will help you strengthen your own mentoring bond.
To RSVP, please email us at AspenMentorship@gmail.com. Include your name, whether you are interested in being a mentor or a mentee and your profession.
