A reminder of real corruption

Boy oh boy, Congress can get things lined up and done in a hurry — when it suits its needs, anyway. Truly sad and pathetic. Really amateurish, as well. I am talking about Friday afternoon’s congressional hearing with FBI Director James Comey. Republicans tried to grill the hell out of this guy only to be schooled by him. True, what “crooked” Hillary Clinton did was indeed really dumb, but what a good Congress should concentrate on is great legislation. Instead, we get a really expensive questioning of the director and a view of why the Republicans are going to lose hugely in November and beyond. For those folks who do not remember or care about the last presidential election, there was an autopsy of why they lost with an aged white guy named Mitt Romney. Go back a little further, and look up Dick Cheney, George W. Bush and Valerie Plame and how Scooter Libby was pardoned. Talk about corruption and being above the law. The Republicans have absolutely no credibility at this point, and they know it. They also have a huge problem child named Donald Trump. I hope they really start over after this election cycle. They will need to reinvent the party of Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt to compete with Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
