Great Aspen history lessons

Tim Willoughby always writes great articles about Aspen’s early history (“An Aspen story of doctors and babies, two generations,”Jan. 8, 2017). I enjoy them very much. Doc Twining’s wife, Maude (Copeland), was also a great early Aspenite. She taught me English, the year Tim was born, at the Red Brick School.

I was an Aspen High graduate of 1949 who had the honor to receive his diploma from another great Aspen teacher, Hildur Anderson, in the still burnt-out interior of the Wheeler Opera House, then under restoration.

Keep up your great articles, Tim!
