Garfield Sheriff’s Office crossed the line

Nine-one-one could get you beat up. That is if the responding department is the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office. Since I came forward with my story last week about the brutality of the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, I have had several men and women come to me in just a few days about the brutality they experienced by the deputies of the present Sheriff’s Office within the past 16 years — when the present sheriff took over.

After my personal experience with these deputies and the 911 experience I knew this was not an isolated incident. Now my worst nightmare is coming true as men and women are to sharing their story with me because none of their friends believe them. That was my experience; they thought I imagined it all. How could the sheriff do that? Then when I went to the lawyer’s office they said the deputies have a wide range of freedom to rain force. When do they cross the line? What is considered brutality? That’s why I am here now. Let’s see if we can find that line and understand what happens when it’s crossed.

I am writing this letter to see if my experience is just an anomaly or if there are more Garfield County residents who were treated without respect by our Sheriff’s Office.

We have started a Facebook page, khalsaforsheriff, to carry on our question of interest. Have you been treated improperly by a Garfield County deputy? We would love to hear from you or you can share your story by email at khalsaforsheriff@gmail.com or anonymously at P.O. Box 427, Carbondale, CO, 81623. How long has he been reigning terror or is it just my nightmare?

If you never hear from me about this issue then my experience was just a hiccup in a big machine.

What if all “activists” became entrepreneurs, and the propagation of division through fear-mongering no longer became a factor because the products created were better than what came before and therefore didn’t necessitate discussions of morality.…
