Calling Aspen High School’s classes of ‘76 and ‘77
Calling AHS’ classes of ‘76 and ‘77
With delight and a bit of horror, I want to announce the 1976 and 1977 Aspen High Class Reunion. The delight comes from wanting to see my classmates and the horror comes from 40 years! Aaaggh! Can it really be 40 years since I graduated? Yes, I did graduate, but I know some of you have your doubts.
The reunion will be held on Sept. 22 and 23, and if you are part of these classes join us for our Friday night party. You’ll find many friends who have never come to a reunion before, or it’s been a very long time. As the years passing into our 60s (I’m really not that old), this is a life event you should not miss. So if you’re thinking of coming to this event, get on it.
You know what we really want? Stories — stories of life experiences, changes made, people who affected you and, most importantly, about fast times at Aspen High. Like the time I was at the Continental Hotel bar with two of my friends (their names will be withheld). The waitress brings us our drinks (mine was a tequila sunrise; does anyone drink those anymore?) and out pops coach DeGregario, our football coach. “Gentlemen, those drinks better disappear in 30 seconds and you better disappear in the next 30 seconds.” Whoops. “Yes, sir.” Needless to say the punishment was extreme, but worth it. Yeah, those kind of stories. Good times.
There will be a 1976 and 1977 (teachers and significant others included) “meet and greet” at the Mountain Chalet on Friday night, the 22nd, and a picnic lunch at the Heron Park during the day on the 23rd, extended to Aspen High alumni who want to celebrate with us (alumni fee will be charged). Prices for ‘76 and ‘77 classmates are $100 for individual, and $175 per couple. For more information, go to our website http://www.enentsinview.com, where you can sign up, learn more and connect us with your present information. Our Facebook page is http://www.FaceBook.com/AHS7677.
So, we are hoping that we see our classmates at our 40th class reunion. The fall weather will be beautiful and the colors will be at peak, and bring those stories.
