Aspen City Hall funding should be voted on

Wow, the Fourth of July parade in Aspen this year was a blast with so many floats. On our float, we celebrated one of the world’s most cherished and fought after right: the right to vote.

Our float asked in big letters: Let us vote on the new Aspen City Hall??? — and, at this today’s 4 p.m. work session, the mayor and city council will be discussing if they want to put the $40 million funding question for the new city hall offices on the ballot.

The right to vote — never take it for granted.
