Letter: Your taxes support magnificent teachers

Think about that one life-changing teacher who you had back in school, and reflect on how much of a difference they had on your life. Please know that she/he is exactly the profile of teacher that we want to keep here in our community. Educational excellence is achieved and held through the resolve and devotion of our community, but it is forever strengthened with the sustained performance of an exemplary teaching cadre. We are blessed with just that.

A vote for 2A (Snowmass Village) and for 2D (Aspen) ensures we can continue to balance existing budgets, to keep crucial enrichment programs and positions in place, and to preserve optimal teacher-to-student ratios — all key elements to our continued success in reaching and positively impacting children in the district.

Most importantly, your “yes” vote continues the support for one of our most important duties as a district: to attract and retain an extraordinary, life-changing teaching staff.

Please vote “yes” on 2A and 2D on or before Nov. 8!

Member, Aspen School District Board of Education
