Sell it to the kids

The oil and gas propaganda machine grinds on. I see where they directed it toward youth at a STEM and Empowerment Conference at CMC-Rifle recently.

Oil and gas says they’re going to create 1.9 million jobs by 2035. How’re they going to do that when that’s exactly when the climate change movement is planning to have 100 percent renewable power? Not to worry, the renewable industry will create at least that many jobs.

One of the speakers at the conference, Colorado Petroleum Council Executive Director Tracee Bentley, used to be Governor Frackenlooper’s energy adviser and lobbyist at the time the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commissions changed its mission from protecting public health and safety and the environment to promoting oil and gas. She is one oil and gas’s leading propagandists in the state.

I don’t think these kids today are buying oil and gas’s sales pitch. They accept the scientific reality of climate change and understand the health and safety risks posed by oil and gas drilling and fracking. They’d rather be part of the solution than part of the problem.
