Remove unncecessary plastics

During the drought in Colorado I remember seeing signs at restaurants saying, “Due to drought conditions tap water will be served only upon request.”

I would like to see signs now saying, “Due to an abundance of plastic in our environment, straws will be provided only upon request.”

Honestly, I would love to see straws eliminated but by choice and not by a mandate of local government. Straws are unnecessary, wasteful and we can live without them. Your children will live longer and healthier lives without them.

We as consumers and business owners should not have to be told what to do when doing the right things is very simple and easy. Not to mention a business can even save a little money not having to buy them! Win-win.

Just my opinion. Now drink up!
