No local love for Nordic World Championships

With all the hype about the FIS World Cup Finals here in Aspen, you would think that we would have had a little more (any!) coverage about our two Aspenites competing at the Nordic World Championships in Lahti, Finland, this past week.

The coverage on has been fabulous, but to see nothing in our local papers about Simi Hamilton or Noah Hoffman has been flagrantly embarrassing.

We hold a Nordic fundraiser at the Limelight Lodge every year for these Aspen natives, and hundreds of people show up. So why no coverage last week?

These are the World Championships! If we’d had two locals at the Alpine World Championships in St. Moritz earlier in the winter, I’m sure there would have been daily coverage, daily reporting from our local papers!
