Yoga events roll out the welcome mats

Dear Editor:

We want to let you know about two upcoming very special, community yoga events. From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on June 29, The Shakti Foundation, along with the Aspen Yoga Society, will hold our third annual Yoga In Action Day.

This event is in conjunction with the Aspen Institute’s Ideas Fest, which celebrates the Aspen Idea of mind, body and spirit. It is fitting that this will be held at Paepcke Park. We are happy to have as our teachers yoga master Rod Stryker, Aaron King of King Yoga and Evan Soroka of 02 and King Yoga.

We are grateful to King Yoga, 02 and the Aspen Club, which will be closing their studios during this time to encourage students to come and practice with us as a community. This is sure to be a fun-filled, inspiring morning for the whole family and visitors alike.

In addition to this annual event, The Shakti Foundation and the Aspen Yoga Society are pleased to be co-hosting a small, intimate yoga workshop and dinner, which are being held as fund-raisers for Seanne Corn’s Off The Mat Foundation.

Seanne is a nationally celebrated yoga superstar who will be teaching along with Suzanne Sterling and Kerri Kelly. Their foundation encourages people to take their yoga practice off their mats and take action to make the world a better place for all. This event will take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. July 3 at King Yoga at the Aspen Airport Business Center, which again we would like to thank for their support and generosity. The dinner will be held in a private residence. For more information please contact gina@aspenyogasociety.org

We hope to see you at one or all of these events. Thank you.

Muffy and Megan DiSabatino
