Letter: What about Lions Park?

Basalt’s candidate forum held Thursday was informative; however, many questions couldn’t be addressed because of time restraints. I hope the following question will be addressed by both mayoral candidates and also the Town Council candidates either privately to me or publicly as a letter to the editor.

Question: Most attention has been focused on the future of the Pan and Fork property; however, I’m concerned about rumors that Lions Park could be “traded away” and be developed. What is your position on the future of Lions Park, and will you honor the decision made earlier by the Downtown Area Advisory Committee that there will be a nonbuildable “V open view” from downtown to the river?
