Letter: What a wonderful, caring community we all live in

Our family is so excited since we have been fortunate enough to have been selected for a Habitat for Humanity home. And thank you to the 80 people who attended the groundbreaking ceremony March 10. What a wonderful proclamation Basalt Mayor Jacque Whitsitt read celebrating the upcoming homebuilding project that the town has asked Habitat for Humanity to help make a reality.

Our soon-to-be-new home that our family will help build is scheduled be completed at the end or this year or early next year. We are so very happy and relieved that soon we will have a home where we can truly settle down.

However, since the home we have been renting for three years is now slated to be sold, we have to move out by Monday and need to find a new rental to live in until our Habitat home is ready. So, we are looking for a place to live while we build our forever home. We are hoping to spread the word in our valley in the hopes that someone can alert us to any rental possibilities.

Thank you all.
