Letter: We need an alternative to AVH

Dear Editor:

I’d been racking my brain about what we should do with the old and most amazing and unique place that any other city in America would love to have as an art museum. Why not subsidize some doctors who would like to live here in Aspen? The only requirement would be that they accept Medicare and that you can get a few stitches when needed for less than what the hospital emergency room feels it needs to charge — close to $1,000 for three stitches.

We need an alternative to the non-community asset that the hospital has become.

I’m also glad to hear that our new hospital is not about David Ressler and to be assured that in no way will he be using Aspen Valley Hospital on his resume in the future.
