Letter: We hate unique ideas
I want to thank the Basalt Town Council and the greedy, self-centered downtown business owners who, along with the Eagle County bureaucrats, are trying to shut down Butch’s Lobster Shack. As we all realize, we need to keep our valley as sterile and nondescript as possible — like the Willits Town Center. We hate unique ideas, especially when these ideas are what gives our town character. In time, I imagine you’ll have turned original Basalt into the likeness of a New Jersey mall — right in the heart of the Rockies. What a tourist draw that will be!
