Vote yes on 1A

We’d like to encourage voters to say “yes” to 1A and raise the mill levy for Aspen Ambulance. This is the only time in the Ambulance District’s 32-year history that it has asked voters to reset their mill levy. A yes vote will cost a property owner approximately $3.98 per $100,000 of residential property value in 2014, an increase of $2.23 per $100,000 from the current tax. Many ambulance staffers are also ski patrollers, wildland firefighters and members of our local fire districts. They respond to accidents roadside, in private homes, businesses and construction sites. They’re called for assistance at our ski areas, schools, airport and public lands. This coordinated response and skill level is exceptional for our community and we would like to see them continue and thank them for their service.
