Letter: Vote yes on 1

An extremely important point regarding Referendum 1: No variance for height and mass, housing and parking in Aspen’s commercial and lodging zone will be referred to the voters if City Council votes “no” on an application. In other words, unlike Planning and Zoning, where developers can get a “yes” or “no” and still proceed to the council, with Referendum 1, a “no” at the council stops the application and there will not be a public vote. Developers do not have the option to override council and go to the voters seeking approval. If council denies the application, there will not be a public vote.

Vote “yes” on Referendum 1.
