Letter: Vote ‘no’ on Base2
To me, the bad behavior exemplified by the combinations of lying, manipulations and misrepresentations that were reported through the approval process and after are abundant reasons to vote “no” for Base2. Layer on not fulfilling the affordable-housing requirements, and you have a bad, disingenuous deal. This is not a vote about liking or making a place for youthful vitality, like the cute sayings portray. It is whether a developer subsidy to ensure a level of developer profits is more important than housing the youth of Aspen. It is also about the precedents being set. Aspen, you have many more development applications from this mystery group. Better toughen up now and pick substance over charismatic B.S. I am hoping that Aspen is not duped by cute marketing.
