Letter: Veazy does it again
Well, Rick Carroll, you’ve gone and done it just 20 days after the great Mary Jane day, March 5, for Aspen and Pitkin County.
Early Tuesday morning, I left the gym after talking with former Beverly Hills Mayor Jimmy Delshad, a great Persian, took the office building’s elevator upstairs and sat down at my office computer in Beverly Hills, Calif., and what pops up on the screen?
“So you want to use the Aspen name?” (Commentary, The Aspen Times, March 25) by Carroll fills the screen with: “Aspen Comics … based in Culver City, Calif. Its characters surely can’t be as fascinating as … Emzy Veazy III.”
I must have done exceptionally well on Carroll’s Aspen examination before he even wrote his first words for his editorial that finished with: “Pass that test, and the Aspen name is all yours.”
Well, Carroll, how many boasted and went crazy for Mary Jane in Aspen on March 5? You can still smell the smoke on them and their clothes, can’t you?
How many years into the future will Aspenites talk about and celebrate March 5 for Mary Jane making them feel good with a Rocky Mountain high? A yearly Aspen March 5 celebration will give the town the uber-class it never had because March 5 is my birthday. Hi there.
Pitkin County and Aspen made my birthday their unofficial holiday. Thanks for the gift. Ain’t I lucky?
Now I own the Aspen name and more, don’t I? I gotcha! Put your tribute money in my bank account. Don’t be stingy.
Enough said!
Emzy Veazy III
