Letter: Use what we already have

The phrase “If you build it they will come” does not refer to hotels, condominiums or affordable housing. It refers to parks, venues, fishing and picnic areas. When will the Planning Department and the business community progress

into this decade of sustainability, community and true vitality? People left this area to open their businesses in Willits because they were investing in their business and could then pay their own mortgage and not the landlord’s.

When will we repurpose the empty buildings we have now and not continue to build when we can’t even fill the empty space we have? What kind of a tone does it set for the town when people driving across the bridge see nothing but empty space? Again, let’s go forward with progressive thinking.
