Letter: Think before you build

Hats off to Pat Milligan for correctly describing the new “faceplanters” at Durant and Hunter across from the Gondola Plaza. This project and design are excellent examples of the city’s focus on storm-water management and detention being out of control. Detention ponds should not be on every street corner or contained within every piece of property but rather should be a “public utility.” I cannot see how this $700,000 in public funds is an improvement, and I look forward to seeing the unintended consequences of the addition of “faceplanters” to the pedestrian/vehicle crossings of Durant and Hunter. Let’s have a little more sense in the planning and expenditure of public funds.

Kimbo for Aspen City Council

Vote for Kimbo Brown-Schirato for council. She’s the right choice at the right time for Aspen. She listens, works extremely well with others, and she’s effective.
