He is a strong caring husband and father, an exemplary employee demonstrated by his longevity in the valley, and a tireless community activist and supporter. He cares about Basalt and what kind of community will be passed down to younger generations, and he has a deep and true grasp of Basalt’s history. Every effort made by Rick is done to ensure Basalt’s small-town character and uniqueness in the valley. He has demonstrated through his time on council that he can make the tough decisions without passing the buck back to committee, thereby leaving Basalt in a stagnant cycle.
