Letter: The race card has run its course

The race card has run its course

Dear Editor:

Way to stay classy with your publication on Sunday of John Cole’s drawing of the Grim Reaper feasting gleefully on a dwindling white population and, consequently, dwindling Republican Party.

Does it occur to anyone that the ideas contending for the soul of America have been around since the 18th and 19th centuries and are all of European (ie., “white”) origins?

Were, say, Joseph McCarthy, Ayn Rand, Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan and the Koch Brothers any more or less “white” than Karl Marx, Woodrow Wilson, Margaret Sanger, Saul Alinsky, Bill Ayers and George Soros?

Are “social justice” Catholics who helped usher in Obamacare more or less “white” than conservative Catholics who oppose Obamacare’s infringements of religious liberty and freedom of conscience?

For that matter, was Martin Luther King more or less “black” than Malcolm X? Is Clarence Thomas less black than Eric Holder?

Was Lucifer less of an angel than the rest when he set out to tear down the whole structure erected by “The Man”?

What does race have to do with anything, apart from the left finding it a useful tool for transforming us into the next failed socialist state … for reasons that only Lucifer (Alinsky’s hero) can fully understand.

Perhaps Mr. Cole’s next cartoon can depict old white folks lined up in front of Obamacare’s “death panel” with yellow stars on their shirts so the panel won’t have to waste time deliberating over what to do with them. Let’s all chuckle at the new “Final Solution,” which you’ll be sure to publish.
