So now the masters of the universe, including Colorado’s Cory Gardner (wait — what?), are meeting on a coastal island to determine how to stop the billionaire caped crusader from Gotham City.

This isn’t just a reality-TV show. It’s a medieval romance in the form of a comic book. It’s the stuff of Greek epic — the Mycenaean Empire about to launch a thousand ships to protect and expand its global trading interests, using the abduction of a beautiful woman as the pretext.

We know how that venture turned out — the Greek Dark Age, all 500 years of it.

Gardner should come home and tend the garden.
