Letter: Thanks for a successful Taste of Basalt

What a phenomenal turnout we had for the 19th annual Taste of Basalt at the Roaring Fork Club on Saturday night. It was one of our most well-attended events.

Whether it’s sponsorships or silent auction donations, volunteer help or patron attendance, donated food and beverages or the support, collaboration and patience from the Roaring Fork Club, it takes a village. And this weekend, our community turned out in force for dancing, wine tasting, food sampling and silent auction bidding to support the Basalt Education Foundation and the Basalt public schools.

We are so grateful to all our event sponsors, with noteworthy thanks to our presenting sponsor, Alpine Bank, which continues to prove that it is the community bank. A heartfelt thank-you to the Taste of Basalt committee for its remarkable effort in producing an outstanding event: Gretta McKenney, Andrea Michelson, Corin Brucker, Mary Holley, Aimee Yllanes, Jodi Lamirault, Melissa Glenn, Linda Hoffman, Kristen Maley, Leanne Hodgson, Leana Fisher, Denise Latousek, Lindsay Lofaro, Tori Thompson, Kellie Smith, Tara Haas, Stephen Holley and Diana Lane.

We’re still counting receipts for Saturday’s event, but we’ll announce the final tally of money raised on our website in coming days — keep an eye on http://www.basalt

edu.org. You can also check back at the site in mid-December to learn which programs at the Basalt schools received funds from foundation this season.

Again, thank you to the entire community for supporting this great event and our local schools.
