Letter: Support Schwoerer for Crown Mountain Rec District
I am writing to support enthusiastically the candidacy of Katie Schwoerer for a seat on the board of the Crown Mountain Park and Recreation District. The election is Tuesday, and if you are a registered voter in Colorado and live or own property in the district, which covers the communities of Old Snowmass, Basalt, El Jebel, the Eagle County portion of Blue Lake, the Eagle County portion of Missouri Heights and up Frying Pan Road to Meredith and Thompsonville, you are eligible to vote in this election.
Katie is the only non-incumbent running for the board. She was a leader in the successful effort last year to defeat a bond issue for an indoor recreation center that would have duplicated similar facilities throughout the Roaring Fork Valley at great cost to the residents of the district. At the same time, Katie is a strong proponent of the outdoor recreational facilities that the district currently provides.
If you are an eligible voter in the district, please vote for Katie Schwoerer on Tuesday. You can obtain more information about the election by contacting the district’s offices at 970-963-6030.
