Letter: Strong values for school board
Although the election season is coming down to the wire, I felt strongly that I reach out with my opinion on this year’s school board election. School boards should be made up of lay people, elected community members who are tasked with ensuring that a district is operating in alignment with the needs of the people it serves, from the kids to the teachers to the public at large. School boards should be made up of people who are trusted and respected widely in their community and who are able to listen to and engage the community in the success of the district.
And that’s why my family and I fully support candidate Jennifer Rupert for Re-1 district seat A. I can’t think of a more widely respected or trusted individual. She is from a hardworking family with strong core values. Her decision to run for this seat was based solely on a desire to serve, and we would all be lucky to have her. If you value honesty, integrity, compassion and inspiration as well as experience, then I hope you will join us in voting Jennifer Rupert for Roaring Fork school board.
Please keep in mind that at this late date, all ballots should be dropped at the proper locations for your community. It is too late to put them in the mail.
