Letter: Still space at the community garden in Basalt
It’s May, the apple trees are blossoming, the grass has greened up and how can you resist the urge to grow something? If you can’t, we have some room for you at the community garden in the Grace-Shehi open space just west of Basalt High School. This garden receives sun all day and the soil is fertile. You can even set up a watering system so that you don’t have to attend to keeping your plants wet when work or travel interferes with your fun.
We welcome novices and experienced gardeners who want to grow flowers and their own vegetables. To reserve a plot or for more information, email basaltcommunitygardens@gmail.com or call me at 970-927-4629. We’ll talk dirt.
