Letter: Soldiers lack real support

Soldiers lack real support

Dear Editor:

In regard to Lt. Col. Dick Merritt’s letter about honoring the fallen (May 26, The Aspen Times), coming from a line of military family extending back to the American Revolution, I will give you no argument.

But allow me to add that sometimes the folks (cannot say men anymore) who return from the horrifying firefights, not only deserve equal recognition with those who died, but could also use a lot more support from we, the people, who sent them into battle, than they are getting.

Kevin Merz
