Skadron takes the high road

Dear Editor:

In my recollection (though admittedly increasingly unreliable), our new Mayor Steve Skadron just made the single most impressive effort I have seen in Aspen politics to bring the community together. The mayor’s decision to switch his vote from Howie Mallory to Dwayne Romero shows, to me, Steve’s desire to be a strong and able leader of the whole community, not just part of it. Superbly done, Mr. Mayor.

Also, kudos on the process of selection for the vacant seat. At first I thought it was a little political, and then, duh, I realized it is politics, and in hindsight I thought it was excellent and I was honored to be a party to party. I am pleased to have gotten to know a lot of really good people a little better. Thanks to all, and I hope we can all follow Steve’s lead.
