Letter: Saturday science
Saturday science
Come celebrate science and have some fun with the Aspen Science Center! On Saturday (not Sunday!), we are hosting our STEAM Room grand finale at the Crystal Palace from noon to 4 p.m. The public is invited to see what we have been up to, partake in interactive science exhibits, enjoy food and drink catered by Jimmy’s Restaurant, Aspen Brewing Co. and Benziger Winery (starting at 1 p.m.), and witness live science demos. Guaranteed to be an explosively good time!
For the past six weeks, the Aspen Science Center has been thrilled to be able to present interactive science at the STEAM Room at the Crystal Palace, thanks to the generosity of Mark Hunt. We have been delighted to give back, educate and inspire our community by offering a venue for kids and adults to explore the principles of science and learning.
By closing time, we will have had more than 1,200 unique individuals through our doors for more than 1,600 visits, accommodated 14 field trips covering more than 500 youth and hosted a multitude of birthday parties, fundraisers, speaker series and other community events.
We believe it is imperative to the community’s future to embrace science, the quest for knowledge and the search for progress, and the outpouring of support shows that the public feels the same way. There is an undeniable excitement and need for more science, technology, engineering and math resources in our community, and our brief stay in the Crystal Palace shows just a little of what we can do when we have a space, even temporarily.
We hope you can join us on Saturday at the STEAM Room at the Crystal Palace!
