Letter: Rubey plan is obscene

Rubey plan is obscene

The proposal to Aspen City Council at Tuesday’s work session to park 25 buses at Rubey Park is totally obscene! And the proposal to park five buses along Wagner Park obliterating the view of Ajax is even more obscene!

Buses should be parked out of town — at Buttermilk. Furthermore, locals hate it when you remove seven more private vehicle parking (near McDonald’s).

This proposal totally trashes Durant Avenue and Wager Mark and ruins the charm of the center of town. This is rubbish!

New crop of Aspen residents don’t count

Kudos to Laurine Lasselle for her well-written, well-researched article interpreting the data from the 2020 census (“2020 census data highlights relationship among resort communities, downvalley locales,” Aspen Journalism).
