Letter: Ride for the Child

Founded in 1977, Court Appointed Special Advocates provides well-trained court-appointed volunteer advocates to abused and neglected children across the country. Its goal is to provide a safe, permanent, nurturing home for every child it serves. Court Appointed Special Advocates in Colorado’s 9th Judicial District, which serves children in Garfield, Pitkin and Rio Blanco counties, will have its second annual Sopris Century Ride for the Child event — a supported bike ride featuring 100-mile, 60-mile and 31-mile courses and, new this year, a 12-mile family/fun course on the scenic country roads of the beautiful Roaring Fork Valley — on June 25.

All distances start and finish at Sopris Park in Carbondale, where we will have a post-ride party with food by Hickory House and music. The ride will include fully stocked aid stations as well as support vehicles circulating the course. To learn more and to register, please go to our website http://www.sopriscentury.com

Our valley features some of the country’s best road riding in the summer, so let’s get on our bikes on June 25 to support our community’s most at-risk youth!
