Letter: Pull back on the reins
Re: “Willits Town Center expansion heads to review” (The Aspen Times, Dec. 8):
Expansion! When is enough enough? The Roaring Fork Valley is already clogged with people, cars, trucks and commercial. Do we really need or want to add more?
Growth is the mantra of our times. Bigger is better. More is better. It’s the insanity of our culture, obsessed with unbridled growth and commercialism.
How about some responsible voices saying, “Hold on — let’s sit back and live with what little is left of this remarkable valley, a natural treasure, before further degrading it forever”?
