Letter: Poor leadership in Basalt

Congratulations to Bernie Grauer and Jacque Whitsitt (who abdicated her role as finance chairwoman). You have downtown Basalt paralyzed, and now you have managed to slow development in Willits with your rant the other night. Are you so afraid that Willits is bypassing the downtown area that you are trying to stop a project that would bring additional vitality to Willits?

Basalt: The confluence of rivers, recreation and culture. I don’t think so with this kind of leadership. By the way, Jacque, when did you give up the chairmanship of the Finance Committee? Please, no platitudes that you are advocating transparency — you were aware of the issues, as they had been discussed with town officials. It seems that you lost control of your emotions for reasons that only you know.
