Letter: Playboy performer
Playboy performer
Ain’t it something that Jazz Aspen Snowmass is going to bust loose with Playboy Enterprises’ popular favorite Poncho Sanchez? This Latin jazz musician for mucho years has performed many times under the auspices of Hugh M. Hefner’s Playboy corporate name.
Back in the 1980s, I first caught Sanchez playing live at the annual Affaire in the Garden in Beverly Hills, California. The last time I talked about Sanchez was in the latter 1990s with then-Playboy national communications director Bill Farley, when we were around a bunch of Playboy playmates at Bloomingsdale’s, an American luxury department store, in Century City in Los Angeles adjacent to Beverly Hills. One of those playmate beauties was Playboy’s playmate of the month for September 1997. Yeah, you guessed it right — she was Nikki Schieler Ziering, then-wife of Ian Ziering of TV series “Beverly Hills, 90210” fame.
So check out Sanchez when he gets here. He has the Playboy mark of distinction in the jazz world.
