Letter: Pig-torture day

What a terrible thing to celebrate. Bacon is produced from intelligent animals that have been raised cruelly and suffer until they are killed brutally. They know pain and fear their whole lives. Young pigs are castrated and have their tails docked and teeth cut without any anesthesia. These animals are as intelligent as our pet dogs yet are treated with depraved cruelty. The factory pig farms are also an environmental nightmare. I think Buttermilk and Aspen Skiing Co. could find something better to celebrate than animal brutality!
