Letter: Perfect place for memorial

Editor’s note: The following letter was originally addressed to the city of Aspen.

It’s a bit overdue, but wanted to commend you on a job well done with regard to the new Rubey Park Transit Center. It looks amazing and is a great asset for the community. On a personal note, years ago after my father passed away, I commissioned local artist Susan Olsen to create a bronze statue of my father, Max. The placement of that on the west side of the complex is amazing, and my family is honored to have this showcased where it is. The piece was commissioned and produced from a photo of Max skiing on the Slalom Hill on Aspen Mountain. So the statue sits in full view of the Slalom Hill, and there really is not a better place it could have been exhibited. Thanks, and great job all the way around!
