Letter: Now that’s irony
I wish the Aspen Citizens’ Climate Lobby much success in meeting with legislators to press for a carbon fee on emissions.
In her letter on June 17, Ruthie Brown also mentions the upcoming papal encyclical that will address the need for action on climate change. I must say, Pope Frank has an elegant and honed sense of the ironic. Raise your hand if you think his call to action will also address over population and the need to provide education and the means to control birth rates, especially in the poorer countries. Yeah, me neither. Without discussing over population and it’s effect on the environment would be akin to telling an alcoholic and drug addicted person that he must stop drinking alcohol but never mention his heroin problem.
