Letter: No more tall buildings

I agree with Andy Stone that the Aspen City Council, for whatever reason, is trying to make it more difficult for everyone to view the mountain (“Sticking the heart of Aspen where the sun don’t shine,” Commentary, July 30, The Aspen Times).

The next looming threat is the proposed redevelopment of the Sky Hotel. While the owners of the Sky have every right to rebuild their property, do we really want a four-story behemoth at the base of the gondola just to get nine more hotel beds?

I hope the public will contact the City Council before it is too late so the Sky Hotel does not become the next Aspen Art Museum.
