Letter: Ms. Lum responds

Thank you, Ken Brock, for writing to the award-winning newspaper The Aspen Times regarding my recent column “The battle of the phone books.”

You challenge my assumption that Names & Numbers no longer gives discounts when advertisers mention your company in the award-winning advertisements in the nationally acclaimed Aspen Times. I direct you to the June 26 issue (www.aspentimes.com), which has not one “see our ad in Names & Numbers” tag and suggest you take this up with your sales force.

Further, you say that Names & Numbers is not a “subsidiary” of Comcast but fail to address what the true relationship is or why Comcast told me that Names & Numbers is its phone book. Again, if this is in error, you should take it up with Comcast.

Thanks again for reading the world-renowned Aspen Times.

Su Lum
